Methods Engineering Technologist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Methods Engineering Technologist to join our team in supplier development. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support and planning expertise to suppliers to ensure seamless production and delivery of components and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with internal teams to revise engineering masters, work instructions, and other documents to define parts, processes, and sequences required for production.
  2. Visit external suppliers and assist in auditing their processes, recommending improvements, and reporting back to the company on progress and status.
  3. Partner with internal teams, including procurement, quality, and engineering, to align supplier performance with company goals.
  4. Provide technical expertise to suppliers to enhance their capabilities and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  5. Develop and implement supplier performance metrics to track adherence to cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
  6. Assist suppliers in developing plans to increase efficiency and productivity.
  7. Record and submit engineering change requests for changes to build, design, and tooling required to improve efficiency and quality.
  8. Assist in implementing engineering changes into supplier-made parts and assemblies.
  9. Investigate root causes of manufacturing problems and collaborate with other functions to analyze potential solutions.
  10. Support the qualification of manufacturing processes and tooling within supplier facilities.
  11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including internal and external audits.
  12. Assist with training of production, QC, methods engineering, and co-op personnel.
