Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Lead to join our team. As a key member of the NSW Electoral Commission, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies.

This includes driving voter engagement initiatives, building relationships with stakeholders, and managing community reference groups to meet the needs of diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies
  • Managing partnerships and collaborations
  • Creating content and resources for key audiences

The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, experience in stakeholder engagement, and a genuine desire to reduce barriers to participation in democracy.

They will also be able to build and influence strong relationships with stakeholders internally and externally, and have a capability for strategic thinking and problem-solving.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in successfully managing a significant corporate stakeholder engagement program
  • Significant experience in the management, coordination, and preparation of briefings, submissions, reports, and other information requests dealing with complex and sensitive matters
  • Experience building and maintaining positive and productive relationships and effectively managing partnership contracts
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in stakeholder engagement, mapping, and strategic communications

A government or media relations background would be considered an asset.
