At Golding Contractors, we are seeking an experienced Safety, Health and Environment Superintendent to join our team based on site at South Walker Creek Mine, near Coppabella. This role will report to the Project Manager – Mining and involve leading by example, implementing innovative safety systems within a mining environment, and building sound business relationships.
Job SummaryThis is a 5:2/4:3 roster position available immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending project management meetings to provide technical advice, attending meetings with clients, providing input into investigation reports, and developing SHET information and training content.
Key Responsibilities- Attend project management meetings to provide technical expertise and mitigate risks associated with projects;
- Attend client meetings and provide necessary updates;
- Develop comprehensive investigation reports and lead significant investigations;
- Create engaging SHET information and training programs (including inductions) for employees;
- Provide coaching and education to project leaders to enhance the quality and consistency of SHET activities;
- Prepare detailed reports on SHET matters.
- Degree or Diploma in Health and Safety, combined with at least five years of experience in a SHET leadership role in mining;
- Hold G1, 8 & 9 certifications, with G7 being beneficial; Standard 11 certification is also advantageous;
- TAE certification can be beneficial;
- Prior experience working on an Open Cut Coal Mine in Queensland, across Production and Maintenance;
- Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and risk management principles;
- Capacity to facilitate risk assessments and contribute to the capability development of safety and health personnel through coaching and mentoring;
- Experience in auditing, data analysis, reporting, and incident investigation.
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. As an equal opportunity employer, Golding Contractors offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits.
