Job Description

As a key team member, the Membership Officer plays a vital role in supporting senior colleagues.

The position involves coordinating service-level volunteer engagement activities, managing membership welfare and Occupational Health and Safety matters, and contributing to advice, coaching, and mentoring to volunteers.

Working collaboratively with operations and learning teams, you will contribute to recruitment, retention, and recognition activities for volunteer members. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will help build sustainable working relationships.

Key tasks include:

  • Coordinating service-level volunteer engagement activities
  • Managing membership welfare and Occupational Health and Safety matters
  • Providing advice, coaching, and mentoring to volunteers
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build sustainable working relationships
  • Background and security clearance checks
  • Understanding of the emergency services volunteer environment
  • Minimum C Class driver's licence
