Job Overview:

This role is part of a dynamic team that focuses on developing and maintaining robust credit risk model governance frameworks, ensuring effective ongoing model monitoring across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain credit risk models to ensure compliance with best practices in risk management.
  • Collaborate with credit risk modellers, product risk managers, data and system teams, project teams, independent model validators, regulatory affairs teams, and group risk governance teams to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
  • Ensure accurate management and maintenance of core modelling data to meet business requirements and APRA's Data Management Framework.
  • Foster regular credit risk model monitoring forums and reviews of model monitoring outcomes.
  • Enhance existing model monitoring framework by leveraging BitBucket and Tableau.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless data transition from warehouse to discovery environment to production environment.
  • Track risk issues and resolutions, recommending remedial action required to address marginal or unsatisfactory model performance.
  • Deliver data requests and supporting analysis required for APRA annual IRB validation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in credit risk analytics / management with detailed understanding of data management, business, and consumer portfolios across brands, underlying systems, and data.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics, models, and data to facilitate effective credit risk management.
  • Able to identify opportunities to enhance existing business processes through statistical models and tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to learn and adapt.
  • Tertiary qualifications (Quantitative, Actuarial, Statistics, or other relevant degree) or equivalent business experience.
  • Technical proficiency: SAS programming, SQL, R, Excel with VBA, Word, PowerPoint, Bitbucket, and Tableau.
