Job Title: Senior Water Management Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned water management professional to lead our drainage team in designing and implementing stormwater drainage projects. As a Senior Water Management Expert, you will be responsible for mentoring our team members, managing design activities, and overseeing the work of others.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, with experience in using tools like 12D, DRAINS, RORB, and TUFLOW. They will also be able to engage in diverse design tasks, including stormwater drainage, services coordination, and interdisciplinary coordination across various market sectors.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects spanning energy, resources, civic, water, and transport markets. You will also be responsible for leading design activities and packages independently, while overseeing and coordinating the work of others.

As a Senior Water Management Expert, you will have the chance to grow relationships with clients, both internal and external, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and other professionals across the business.

You will also be involved in business development activities, including identifying opportunities, pursuing new work, and writing proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead drainage team in designing and implementing stormwater drainage projects
  • Mentor team members in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
  • Manage design activities and oversee the work of others
  • Engage in diverse design tasks, including stormwater drainage, services coordination, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Work on exciting projects spanning energy, resources, civic, water, and transport markets
  • Grow relationships with clients, both internal and external
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and other professionals
  • Involved in business development activities, including identifying opportunities and writing proposals

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in design and design management, preferably including multidisciplinary work with at least 15 years of experience as a civil/drainage engineer
  • Experience with design and construction projects in Victoria, including MRPV projects and Melbourne Water approvals
  • Energetic, flexible, and positive attitude
  • Team player with a 'can-do' attitude and dedication to delivering high-quality work
  • Technical skills in drainage design across transport, energy, resources, or similar market areas, and general civil design work
  • Experience with a range of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis tools
  • Currently hold or be eligible for CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV
