About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced City Laws Approval Officer to join our Planning and Regulation department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing applications and approvals for a diverse range of activities on Council managed land.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage applications and approvals for activities on Council managed land, including film and TV production, busking, roadside dining, and community activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with applicants, stakeholders, and other Council staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Council's Local Laws and the City Plan.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve business objectives and deliver high-quality services to the community.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relationship management and customer service.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Council's Local Laws and the City Plan, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • A current C Class Driver's Licence.
