Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Work Type: Full-time, Fixed-term contract for 2 years
About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) and Educational Data Mining (EDM) projects.
These projects aim to unlock the potential of multimodal data from online platforms and sensor-based environments to enhance learning at scale.
Key research directions include designing adaptive and personalised feedback algorithms, modelling learning behaviours with sequence and deep learning methods, and generating interpretable insights through novel analytics and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct high-quality research and publish papers in top-tier conferences and journals
- Lead or contribute to grant applications and publications
- Supervise research students (PhD and Honours)
- Provide technical support across projects
The ideal candidate has:
- A PhD (or near completion) in relevant fields such as AI, ML, HCI
- Demonstrated expertise in data mining, data management, and machine learning
- Motivation to conduct interdisciplinary work and collaborate with researchers from other fields and industry partners
- Experience in conducting research under limited supervision and as part of a research team
- Ability to contribute to publications, grant writing, and project outputs
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral)
