About the Role:

The Planning Specialist will be working on mine site construction projects where they will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring. Their primary objective is to provide a quality, well-maintained, and accepted detailed integrated master schedule.

As a go-to technical expert, the Planning Specialist will be responsible for all matters related to scheduling and schedule integrity, relevance, and timeliness. This requires being proactive in all scheduling and planning matters and ensuring effective, efficient, honest, and timely schedule and planning related reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all scheduling, planning, and progress activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Lead Planner in all matters relating to scheduling and planning interpretation.
  • Be the schedule integrity champion on behalf of the Lead Planner, Project Director, and Functional Project Controls Manager.
  • Manage the Project Master Schedule and ensure oversight and integrity of all associated detailed schedules, including contractor/3rd Party Schedules.
  • Amend, manage, maintain, and solicit all information required to support a quality, concise, timely, and trusted schedule.
  • Update and maintain the schedule against the approved baseline schedule on a monthly basis.
  • Review weekly and monthly schedule reports in a manner that supports all progress or key concerns.
  • Scheduling meetings are recorded, and actions are tracked and communicated to the management team in a timely, accurate, and transparent manner.
  • Good industry standard scheduling and planning practices are undertaken and in compliance with HanRoy protocols, procedures, standards, and agreements.
  • Full use of earned value performance indicators (SPI & EV) to flag any schedule creep.
  • Provide scheduling guidance to HanRoy Leads and others on all matters of acceleration or recovery against the baseline, including critical path analysis and major risk areas.
  • Work closely with contractors and the HanRoy management team to critically analyze and provide a scheduling position on all trends that may impact the manning, resourcing, and or timeliness of deliverables.
  • Identify schedule risk and opportunities (R&O) and prepare and maintain a schedule R&O register, ensuring that it is provided as part of the information to support the weekly 90 Day look ahead meeting.
  • Ensure good scheduling and planning practices are undertaken and in compliance with HanRoy protocols, procedures, standards, and agreements.
