The role of an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist is multifaceted and dynamic, requiring a high level of expertise in case management for injured workers who require physical and psychological support to return to employment.
A holistic care approach is taken, establishing key relationships with health professionals and working within a multidisciplinary team to support the journey from rehabilitation to healing.
Variety of assessments are performed depending on your area of clinical expertise, including functional capacity evaluations, workplace ergonomic or activities of daily living assessments.
Collaboration with stakeholders, including injured employees, employers, medical specialists, and other allied health professionals, is essential in developing, implementing, and monitoring rehabilitation plans.
The scope of work includes supporting large government employers and employees through partnerships with various organizations.
Opportunities exist to support the Australian Defence Force and Veteran community.
This role offers meaningful and purposeful work, supporting clients to return to their previous job or find new employment opportunities.

Requirements:- Current unrestricted (or eligibility for) registration or membership with the relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA)
- Occupational Rehabilitation experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology or Nursing
- Strong clinical reasoning
- Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of a common goal
- Passion to help people rehabilitate
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
