About the Role

\

We are seeking an experienced Retail Store Director to lead our Byron Bay Salvos store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer service, and developing a high-performing team.

\

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of paid employees and volunteers to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.\
  • Develop and implement effective operational and visual merchandising strategies to drive sales growth.\
  • Ensure the store is run efficiently, with a focus on profitability and cost control.\
  • Maintain a strong safety culture within the store, adhering to The Salvation Army's health and safety policies.\
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community groups, charities, and businesses to promote the store and its products.\
  • Manage the financial performance of the store, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.\
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, with a focus on promoting from within.\
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting diversity and respect within the team.\\/ul>\

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience in a retail environment, preferably with a similar size and scope.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.\
  • A strong commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.\
  • Experience in managing and developing a team, with a focus on promoting from within.\
  • A commitment to The Salvation Army's mission and values, and the ability to demonstrate these in your daily work.\\/ul>\
