Mental Health Social Work Professional

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Social Worker to join the Mental Health services team at Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) on a part-time basis.
The successful Social Worker will be responsible for providing high-standard clinical care and working in partnership with Medical Officers and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence-based treatment.
Social workers enhance social and emotional functioning through interventions and arrangement of services and support for patients.
Duties
- Provide high-standard clinical care as part of the Mental Health services team at NBH.
- Work in partnership with Medical Officers and the multidisciplinary team to provide assessment and evidence-based treatment.
- Plan and coordinate social work interventions and arrangements of services and support for patients.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimise patient care and discharge planning.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A degree in Social Work and eligibility to the AASW.
- Demonstrated experience working in Mental Health and Aged Care.
- Highly developed social work assessment and counselling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
