Job Overview

We are seeking an Aviation Security Specialist to join our team at Ballina Airport. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screening and Security Checks: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, staff, and baggage, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting passengers with a professional demeanor.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor security checkpoints, oversee traffic flow, and ensure proper procedures are followed at all times.
  • Incident Response: Perform frisk and bag searches, generate incident reports, patrol the premises, and control access to sensitive areas.
  • Technology Operations: Operate security technology, including metal detectors and X-ray machines.
Requirements
  • National Security Clearance: Hold a NSW Security License and possess Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) clearance or be able to obtain.
  • Transport Security Certifications: Possess Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) & Certificate II in Security Operations.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification: Maintain valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Driver's License: Hold a current Driver's license.
  • Skillset: Ability to multi-task efficiently, maintain strong customer service skills, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and have high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Background Checks: Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings, national police checks, and medical assessments.
