We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

You will be responsible for implementing training and support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social, and recreational skills of people with a disability. This includes promoting community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to build rapport and trust with clients, strong time management and prioritisation skills, and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping.

We require a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle, as well as a smartphone. A Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification is also essential, along with current Working With Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and First Aid Certificate. Experience supporting People with Disability and knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing care and support to clients in line with their personalised care plans, including personal tasks, domestic assistance, respite, social support, transport, meal preparation, group participation, and life skills development.
  • Implementing training and support services to maximise the living, employment, social, and recreational skills of people with a disability.
  • Promoting community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice through support services.
  • Using Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification.
  • Current Working With Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Driver's License and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Smartphone.
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience supporting People with Disability.
  • Demonstrated Continuing Professional Development.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Manual handling experience (1 year).
  • Fluent English language skills.
