Correctional Service Officer

This role involves working as part of a team to maintain the safety and security of correctional facilities.
About the RoleCorrectional service officers are responsible for supervising inmates, conducting searches and detection activities, and managing inmate requests.
- Ensuring the daily routines and duties are carried out in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Conducting regular accountability checks, including muster, head counts, and observation of offenders.
- Identifying and removing contraband from the facility or court complex.
- Escalating issues related to inmate requests or services when necessary.
The officer will be responsible for supervising offender activities in designated areas, ensuring compliance with principles of fairness, equity, and efficient safe practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise Inmates
Work within a supportive team environment to ensure the safety, well-being, and security of inmates.
Search and Detection Activities
Conduct searches and other detection activities to find and remove contraband from the facility or court complex.
Manage Inmate Requests
Handle inmate requests for services and escalate them if necessary.
