Job Description:Casual correctional officers play a vital role in maintaining community safety and supporting offenders to achieve positive life changes. They work in correctional facilities, including prisons and court cells throughout New South Wales, to ensure the well-being and rehabilitation of inmates.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct daily tasks and duties in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures to guarantee inmate safety, security, and rehabilitation.
- Perform regular checks, supervise inmate behaviour, and manage requests from offenders.
- Oversee inmate activities in designated areas and maintain a safe and secure environment.
To be successful in this entry-level position, candidates must have a minimum age of 18 years old, hold a valid MR driver's license, and be willing to complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice. They must also meet medical standards and possess a reasonable level of physical fitness.
