In the role of a casual correctional officer, you will play a vital part in maintaining community safety and supporting offenders in their rehabilitation journey.
Working in correctional facilities across New South Wales, your primary responsibility will be to supervise inmates and ensure the facility's security and safety.
Your duties will include:
- Conducting daily tasks and duties in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Performing regular accountability checks, including muster and head counts.
- Conducting searches and monitoring inmate activities to maintain facility security.
- Managing inmate requests and escalating issues as necessary.
You will also have the opportunity to work in various roles and develop your skills and experience within the correctional service.
Benefits of Working in Correctional Services- A nationally recognized Certificate III in Correctional Practice upon completion of the program.
- The ability to work flexible hours and balance your work-life responsibilities.
- Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth within the correctional service.
- A minimum age of 18 years old.
- A current MR (Medium Rigid) driver's license or willingness to obtain one within three months of appointment.
- Australia or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.

- Meeting the medical standards required for a correctional officer and possessing a reasonable level of fitness.
- No body art or modifications on the face, scalp, ears, neck, or hands.
