Job Description

Our team oversees and manages Council's diverse property portfolio, ensuring effective and compliant operations that benefit our community.

As a Senior Property Officer, you will support managing and maintaining Council's property portfolio, including leasing and asset management. You will provide advice to senior stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulations and oversee occupancy agreements for community and commercial assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of Council's property assets, including land acquisitions and property disposals.
  • Administer and coordinate leases, licences, and agreements with community groups, commercial tenants, and government bodies.
  • Lead property-related projects such as development agreements and land transfers.
  • Provide expert property advice and act as an escalation point for complex property matters.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent Council at property forums and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of property management, including leases, land acquisition, disposal, and legal compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for building relationships and providing expert advice.
  • Experience leading property projects and driving improvements.
  • Skilled in handling complex property matters like leases, licences, occupancy permits, and contaminated land management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive industry experience in property.
