Job Summary:

The Blue Mountains City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Leader, Libraries to lead the delivery of library services to the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and managing library services, including staff management, rostering, building and fitout assets, technology and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a proactive, informative and responsive service consistent with the council's objectives, vision and core values.
  • Manage library staff, including rostering, training and development.
  • Oversee the management of library buildings and fitout assets, including maintenance and upgrades.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology and equipment to support library services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve library services and increase community engagement.
  • Collaborate with other council departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a library management role.
  • Proven experience in project management and budgeting.
  • Tertiary qualification in library studies or a related discipline.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement new and innovative ideas to improve library services.
  • Experience in building and leading a high-performing team.
