Cummins Inc. is a leading manufacturer of diesel engines and related products, seeking an experienced Mechanical Diesel Technician to join our team at our Hume facility in Australia.

As a key member of our workshop team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy diesel engines, as well as a strong understanding of Cummins products and services.

This role offers a competitive salary package, including a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a generous hourly rate, and overtime penalties for work above standard hours.

In addition to your salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including uniform, further training, participation in an annual variable compensation program, income protection continuance insurance, and discounts on select private health insurance, PC software/hardware, and vehicles.

Job Description

  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers
  • Complete service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop
  • Support engine rebuilds
  • Diagnose and repair various engines predominantly across on-highway, industrial, and power generation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and report any issues/incidents to the Workshop Manager
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens

About You

  • Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Diesel Engines, Power Generation, On Highway Truck, Construction, or Agriculture desirable but not essential
  • Diagnostics and problem-solving capabilities
  • A team player, prepared to adhere to Cummins Policies
  • Adhere to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to shift supervisors
