Accelerating Emerging Technology Opportunities
This role plays a critical part in driving innovation and delivering facilities for scientists and technologists to conduct research.
The Special Programs Manager oversees the governance and management of security protection for research projects, including resource allocations and schedules, stakeholder engagement, and staff supervision.
This position will result in the establishment of management systems and an initial Program Management Office function that supports new project onboarding, delivery, and closure, as well as management of facilities infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently and be accountable for performing complex program management duties;
- Plan and manage human and physical resources, exercising associated people and financial responsibilities;
- Be accountable for planning and managing allocated resources, setting program priorities, workflows, and evaluating business outcomes;
- Develop, implement, and monitor program strategies, plans, and risks, enabling delivery and reporting on Defence assets.
About Our Team:
We are a dynamic team committed to innovating, learning, and collaborating to deliver critical services to Defence. We integrate inputs from DSTG's emerging and critical technology analysts, intelligence technology analysts, and international partner collaborations to provide advice on Innovation, Science & Technology threats and opportunities from disruptive technologies.
We operate in a classified environment and provide security, workplace health and safety, and infrastructure support for DSTG's research facilities, enabling R&D projects by scientists to develop advanced Defence capabilities.
We advise and support R&D projects provided by industry, academia, and other external research organisations for the program. Our team manages various projects to focus on the overall program and realise impact for Defence capability.
You will be able to proactively analyse security operation standards and requirements for facilities and co-design systems and services to support governance and access.
