Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Program Manager who in the position is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the Trafficking and Slavery Safe House, Australia's first refuge dedicated to supporting survivors of modern slavery, including trafficking, debt bondage, forced labour, servitude and forced marriage.
The Safe House programs include crisis accommodation, transitional housing, outreach case management and the Lived Experience Engagement Program, to support the journey to recovery for survivors experiencing or escaping modern-day slavery.
You will successfully
- Ensure services are inclusive, accessible, and responsive for our diverse clients
- Oversee practice and service delivery of all Safe House programs
- Establish program specific systems and processes for service delivery and review regularly, upholding accreditation standards
- Manage services in accordance with funding body or contractual requirements, guidelines and service standards
- Develop and manage of program budgets and finances including grants
- Oversee all operational aspects of the program including building and assets
- Manage risks in service delivery
- Implement client feedback processes, including oversight of incidents, complaints & feedback, and management of complex or referred issues/incidents
- Undertake Manager On-Call duties and participate in on-call roster as per service need and oversee on-call response service delivery
- Lead and drive local growth, networking and strategic partnerships to respond to modern slavery
- Ensure the voices of clients are heard in planning, service design and continuous quality improvement activities
- Implement and embed national practice frameworks/models
This is a full-time permanent position based at a confidential address in metropolitan Sydney. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award/General Retail Industry Award/Clerks Private Sector Award, Level 7.
You will have
- Degree qualification in social work and/or related field, and demonstrated experience
- Significant experience in managing or coordinating residential care settings
- Significant experience in managing and overseeing case management and outreach support services
- Significant experience in implementing strategy, risk management and human resources
- Experience in the modern slavery/family violence/asylum seeker and refugee support service sector
- Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to consult and negotiate with relevant leaders in agencies in the service sector and the public
- Experience in identifying, developing partnerships and working collaboratively with others
- Relevant child protection requirements such as the Working With Children Check are obtained.
- A national police record check is required
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date.
- NSW Drivers Licence is required
