**Position purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to coordinate and schedule risk and safeguarding activities into an annual business cyclical program of scheduled work activity, withing the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod. This position will identify and implement program enhancements whilst facilitate administration of systems associated with Risk and Safeguarding programs.
**Key responsibilities**:
Program Management
- Map risk and safeguarding activities into an annual business cyclical program schedule and monitor and schedule business activities within that scheduled business cycle, in consultation with and through instruction from the Strategic Risk Manager.
- Plan, organise and schedule any improvement and/or digitalisation of risk and safeguarding projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Define business cyclical activity - goals, objectives, and milestones, and submit appropriate approval requires for any additional resources to help facilitate business objective realisation.
- Prepare key program documents (e.g. including program documents and subordinate Project Proposals, Project Initiation Document, Project Plan, Project Status Reports, Project Variation Request) and documents to support project management (e.g. Resourcing Plans, Milestone Plans, Cost Tracking, Risk Register) ensuring appropriate consultation and negotiation, using the tools of the Portfolio, Program and Project (PPP) Framework as appropriate.
- Ensure business and program issues and risks are identified, assessed and appropriate controls are implemented and managed to mitigate any implementation risks.
- Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to drive program and project delivery and understand activities that might impact on the project.
Program System and Process Administration
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our risk and insurance systems to support the needs of the Synod
- Monitor system performance and trouble shoot any issues that arise, implementing solutions to minimise downtime and disruptions
- Liaison with key stakeholders and vendors in relation to the management of this program, to ensure the integration of the Protech GRC software; with Agency software platforms, Risk and fleet management systems and integration with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and compliance and contractor management systems.
- Engage and coordinate with the GRC software vendor and associated project contractors, ensuring compliance at all levels.
Innovation and Business Improvement
- Lead the review and assessment of existing programs and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
- Collaborate with cross
- functional teams to develop and implement insurance and GRC related digital solutions that streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and help to drive business outcome realisation.

- Provide oversight of the development and design of Safe Church Training modules, including oversight of training delivered to congregations and presbyteries.

- Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day to day work including interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.
- Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.
- Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.
**Key performance indicators**:
- System reliability - ensuring that any downtime or disruptions are kept to a minimum, communicated to stakeholders and addressed in a timely manner.
- Innovation pipelines - ensure identified improvement opportunities are generated, evaluated, and implemented in order to drive improvement or achieve identified efficiencies.
- Cost saving / return on investment - All cost saving initiatives are assessed and completed within approved budgets.
