Job Title:

Sign Writer Apprentice

Job Description:

This role combines practical on-the-job training with one day per week at a TAFE institution, where you will gain the skills and qualifications to succeed as a professional sign writer.

Duties:
  • Prepare and implement programmed works in conjunction with team leaders and members
  • Participate in additional training as required to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Develop expertise in providing signage design, production, installation, and maintenance services for council assets through hands-on training
  • Acquire new skills and apply them to meet specified standards
  • Maximize productivity using current industry best practices
  • Engage in trials of new techniques and systems of work to improve work practices and productivity
  • Attend all scheduled TAFE classes to successfully complete apprenticeship subjects
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Completion of NSW RoSA requirements
  • Class C Driver's Licence (or currently acquiring)
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills
  • Effective communication skills to establish common goals
  • Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a self-managing, multi-skilled team
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-project environment and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated high work standards and commitment to quality
  • Initiative and drive to succeed in the field of sign writing
