About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Property Underwriter to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background, excellent customer and broker relationship skills, and in-depth knowledge of property specific underwriting.

The key focus of this role is to drive sustainable growth and profitability by providing expert advice, direction, and technical support, as well as delivering exceptional customer service within your assigned portfolio.

A typical day in this role may involve:

  • Providing insightful guidance across our scheme and facilities business
  • Building strong working relationships with customers, agency networks, and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the development of strategy, sharing knowledge, and best practice
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and compliance requirements
  • Delivering training to enhance agent knowledge and improve our proposition
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects to add value across the organization
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in property underwriting
  • A commercial background with a strong understanding of the industry
  • Flexibility to work across a changing portfolio
  • Excellent customer and broker relationship skills
  • In-depth knowledge of property specific underwriting
  • Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific classes or portfolios
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • A keen interest in data analytics and the ability to apply those results within the business
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
