Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Specialist

We are looking for a skilled professional to fill this key role.
About the Position- Maintenance, operation and repair of treatment plant infrastructure is essential to ensure compliance with current licensing requirements and adopted operating procedures.
- Assistance or leadership in coordinating staff and resources as needed to optimize plant performance and meet operational objectives.
- Utilization of experience, process monitoring skills and ability to work independently to maintain efficient plant performance and produce high-quality effluent.
- A Certificate III in Wastewater Treatment or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating modern activated sludge wastewater treatment plants, including chemical dosing, process control, and mechanical maintenance.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with capability to manage plant changes and respond effectively to operational challenges.
- Proficiency in SCADA systems and Microsoft Excel, with strong oral and written communication skills to support daily operations and reporting.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental legislative requirements, including compliance with Environmental Protection Licences relevant to wastewater treatment operations.
This is a contract position of up to 18 months with possibility of extension or permanency subject to performance and operational need.
