Senior Geriatric Healthcare Professional

This role offers an opportunity to work across a diverse range of services, including acute inpatient care, GEM inpatient beds, specialist clinics, and community admitted beds.
The successful candidate will provide consultative services, gain experience in all aspects of Geriatric Medicine, and support the Emergency Department.
This position is ideal for a new graduate looking to transition into consultative practice within a major tertiary health service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Emergency Department by providing timely and effective care to patients with complex medical conditions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
- Provide comprehensive geriatric assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring timely and thorough documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, case discussions, and discharge planning to optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including training and education programs, to stay current with best practices in Geriatric Medicine.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with AHPRA.
- Current Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
- Completed training and experience in Geriatric Medicine.
- Strong commitment to high-quality patient care, research, and clinical audit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
