About the Role

The Injury Management Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the health and safety of Estia Health's employees and leaders. This position is responsible for managing workplace injuries and workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Early Intervention and Support
    • Provide timely and effective support to injured employees, including care calls, referrals to early intervention programs, and preparation of return-to-work plans.
  • Injury Case Management
    • Manage a portfolio of injury cases, including consultation and collaboration with injured workers, treating practitioners, and leaders to support injury recovery and return-to-work planning.
    • Travel to worksites and attend case conferences to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Workers' Compensation Claims Management
    • Manage the submission of workers' compensation claims for Victoria, including preparation of necessary documentation, such as incident investigations, witness statements, and role statements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date injury and claims data, including financial, medical certificates, and claims documentation from insurers.
  • Continuous Improvement and Reporting
    • Support the development of strategic and commercially sound plans to improve health and safety performance.
    • Undertake monthly claims and injury reporting to ensure accurate and timely data.
  • Relationship Management
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Estia Health's workers' compensation agents, rehabilitation consultants, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective management of workplace injuries.
  • Support to the Health and Safety Team
    • Assist in developing and managing the Company's WHS system and processes.
    • Provide regular updates on health and safety performance across the area of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or Allied Health (or related) or equivalent prior experience.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 4 years of experience in an WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role in Victoria, with a proven track record in delivering effective workplace injury performance results.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Demonstrated customer-focused mindset and approach to problem-solving.
    • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Demonstrated ability to engage with external and internal stakeholders.
    • High-level planning, time management, and prioritizing skills.
    • Ability to create positive working relationships and influence across a broad range of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated capability in interpreting and applying relevant WHS and workers' compensation legislation.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated capability in coaching leaders and frontline workers to build knowledge and understanding of relevant health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.
    • Ability to travel as operationally required and for team development.
