About the Role

The Injury Management Specialist plays a critical role in supporting our people and leaders in managing injuries and workers compensation claims at Estia Health.

This position works closely with the National Health and Injury Manager to drive a sustainable health and safety culture and performance across the organization.

The Injury Management Specialist ensures that employees are proactively supported in their injury recovery and claims are managed in accordance with legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Injury Management Specialist's key responsibilities include:

  • Providing early intervention support and management to injured employees, including completion of care calls, referrals to early intervention programs, and preparation of return-to-work plans.
  • Managing a portfolio of injury cases, including consultation and collaboration with injured workers, treating practitioners, and leaders to support injury recovery and return-to-work planning.
  • Managing the submission of workers compensation claims for Victoria, including preparation of necessary documentation, such as incident investigations, witness statements, and role statements.
  • Maintaining injury and claims data, including financial, medical certificates, and claims documentation from insurers.
  • Supporting the management of legal claims and disputes.
  • Completing monthly claims and injury reporting.
Supporting Continuous Improvement

The Injury Management Specialist supports continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing, including:

  • Providing expert guidance to senior leaders and managers on the management of workplace injuries and workers compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Participating in internal and external claims reviews to support the development of strategic and commercially sound plans.
  • Proactively managing workers compensation claims to facilitate sustainable recovery and return-to-work.
  • Collaborating with the Health and Safety Business Partner to develop and implement evidence-based injury prevention programs.
Fostering Relationships

The Injury Management Specialist fosters and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including:

  • Estia Health's Workers Compensation Agent's, rehabilitation consultants, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective management of workplace injuries.
Supporting the Broader HSW Team

The Injury Management Specialist supports the broader Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team by:

  • Assisting in the development and management of the Company WHS System and processes.
  • Providing regular updates on HSW performance across the area of responsibility.
Professional Development

The Injury Management Specialist actively develops themselves and supports their team members in the People and Culture team by:

  • Participating in internal People and Culture activities.
  • Taking responsibility for their own professional development.
  • Role modeling Estia Health's Principles and Values.
