This comprehensive program is designed to develop confidence and competence in mental health nursing, providing a supportive environment for career growth and development.

The program includes clinical and specialty rotations in various areas, including General Adult Psychiatry, Substance Use and Addiction, and Aged Mental Health. Successful candidates will be required to enroll in Post-Graduate/Masters in Mental Health Nursing Studies.

Key responsibilities and essential skills include:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of legislation guidelines and directives promoting best nursing practice
  • Maintaining accurate documentation according to hospital policy and legal requirements
