We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Crime Victim Support Specialist to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

About Us

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is responsible for providing access to counselling and financial assistance to victims of violent crime in NSW under the Victims Support Scheme. We promote the Charter of Victims' Rights and deliver related programs.

Salary & Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a salary ranging from $70,694 - $76,857, including employers' contribution to superannuation & annual leave loading.

Job Description

As a Crime Victim Support Specialist, you will provide service and support directly to victims of crime through the provision of information, advice, and referrals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working in a trauma-informed way to ensure that the needs of the client are holistically addressed.
  • Processing applications for victim's support, with assistance as needed.
  • Working collaboratively across Victims Services to ensure the effective administration of the Victims Support Scheme, and identifying opportunities to improve our policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be available to work business hours between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
