Program Leadership Opportunity

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Program Director to lead the development phase of the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP) in Southern Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to ensure program activities are undertaken in accordance with TMR requirements and industry best-practice.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement for the program with key government agencies, Traditional Owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the district on BHTSP specific technical, commercial, and contractual working groups and forums.
  • Identify and harness internal and external expertise to deliver program objectives.
  • Collaborate with broader BHTSP teams across the state to ensure consistency of delivery and technical practices.
  • Investigate, manage, and resolve complex engineering and contractual issues associated with the program.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of construction contracts through procurement and delivery phases.
  • Manage, monitor, and report on program progress through preparation and delivery of submissions and reports.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project management and leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the department at various forums and working groups.
  • Knowledge of road safety initiatives and programs.
