We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Controls Engineer to join our AWS Infrastructure Services team. As a Data Center Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining control systems for our data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Deployment of Control Systems: Develop and implement control systems for data centers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with construction, commissioning, critical projects, data center operations, procurement, program management, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless delivery of control systems.
- Service and Support: Provide expert service and support to partner teams, resolving issues related to loss of visibility, loss of resilience, large-scale events, and critical-scale events.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and minimal defects at the point of power and facilities hand-off.
- Control System Integration: Experience in building unified automated control systems for enterprise-level clients, consolidating equipment and subsystems from multiple vendors.
- Control Theory: Knowledge of proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers and ability to apply this knowledge in a data center environment.
- Industry Standard Programming: Experience with PLC or SCADA programming and scripted programming languages.
- Engineering Documentation: Ability to understand electrical diagrams, control diagrams, control networks schematics, control panel Bill of Materials (BOM), or control panel schematics.
- Delivery of Control Systems: Experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
- Critical Environments Experience: Experience working in data centers or other critical environments, such as defense, pharmaceutical, hospitals, research laboratories, or oil and gas.
- Electrical or Mechanical Controls Systems Experience: Experience working with electrical or mechanical controls systems, including building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS).
- Controls Technology Experience: Experience with controls technology, including BMS, EPMS, industrial protocols, and controls system architecture design.
