The position of Facilities Maintenance Associate is crucial in maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events, while minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure.

This position reports directly to the Head Facilities Maintenance Associate. Key responsibilities include:

  • Arranging furniture and equipment to ensure adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities, and special events.
  • Assisting in securing facilities and grounds to prevent property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability to the organization.
  • Attending in-service training sessions to receive information on new procedures and best practices.
  • Cleaning assigned school facilities to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
  • Performing various custodial functions as required to assist in maintaining the facility's safety and attractiveness.
  • Reporting incidents of vandalism, damages, or issues needing attention to seek prompt corrective action.
  • Carrying out other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios.
  • Understanding written procedures, writing routine documents, and speaking clearly.
  • Ability to operate equipment used in custodial work and adhere to safety practices.

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require significant physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job requires regular attendance and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
