Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as a Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Health district's Adult Inpatient unit, including the Psychiatry Emergency Care Centre.

The Psychiatry Emergency Care Centre is a short stay unit, primarily for crisis intervention for consumers with low to medium acuity mental health problems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide high-standard clinical services and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who can ensure detailed patient treatment plans are in place to support timely management of patients and effective clinical handover processes.

  • Provide high-standard clinical record documentation, including completion of all clinical records, to reflect clinical decisions and optimise data collection.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be able to demonstrate ability to work as a team member within the Department and broader multidisciplinary team, and ensure a high standard of service consistent with defined scope of clinical practice for ISLHD and NSW Health Policies.
