Financial Operations Specialist

The role of a Finance Operations Assistant is vital in maintaining the core functions of Business Operations' Finance team.
Primary Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate and coordinated accounting and financial data to ensure robust and consistent reporting that meets Department objectives, government policy, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Provide administrative support based on team priorities and participate in the development of management reporting systems and accounting methods to enhance existing procedures and the communication of financial information.
- Validate and support financial transactions, including vendor invoice processing, requisition checks and delegated payment approvals, ensuring compliance with policy and timely resolution of business enquiries.
- Familiarity with accounting, financial and payable procedures and methodologies.
- Understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury Directions and Public Finance and Audit Act.
- Proven ability in collaboration, information presentation and reporting.
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and problem solving skills
