About the Job

This dynamic position involves overseeing vehicle operations and maintenance to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in fleet management, logistics, and resource optimization, as well as strong leadership skills and analytical abilities.

  • Provide strategic guidance to transportation personnel to enhance efficiency and professional development.
  • Develop and implement improvements in transportation operations to optimize asset utilization and personnel efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment needs to maintain operational efficiency and stay within budget constraints.
  • Act as the main point of contact for transportation-related issues, advising and coordinating with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Regularly communicate with customers to gauge their satisfaction and make adjustments to transportation services as necessary.
  • Develop and implement procedures to track all transportation missions, driver performance, and maintenance activities to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Oversee the maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition and reduce downtime.
  • Optimize transportation routes and schedules to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with government regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare regular reports on fleet operations and key performance indicators to inform management decisions.
Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of fleet management experience, transportation, or logistics roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team, including overseeing personnel and operational management.
  • Fleet management certification is highly beneficial.
  • A commercial driver's license or Australian equivalent can be beneficial for better understanding of the operational aspects of fleet management.
  • A HAZMAT endorsement is required.
  • Operational and strategic planning skills are essential for this role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to analyze data related to fleet operations and make informed decisions.
