The Role:

We are seeking a talented Data Analytics Engineer to join our team as we transition from a legacy SQL Server warehouse to a cloud-based warehouse. The successful candidate will enhance and support Bluestone's Product & Technology Roadmap, focusing on core data priorities, building the enterprise data model, supporting data reporting requirements, and optimizing data processes. This role entails:

  • Developing data-driven reports and dashboards using SQL and Power BI.
  • Creating reusable data assets and implementing business logic with AWS Redshift.
  • Managing the lifecycle of physical data models and data maps for database/warehouse systems.
  • Deploying and configuring data pipelines across different environments throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed analysis of requirements to facilitate solid design decisions.
  • Producing high-quality code, scripts, and data adhering to Bluestone's coding standards.
  • Creating automated unit tests to validate coding changes and functionality.
  • Providing development support and advice, assisting team efforts to achieve project targets.
  • Providing post-implementation support to ensure business benefits and compliance adherence.
  • Undertaking data modelling and cube designs
  • Promoting data governance, ensuring data lineage, integrity, and classification.

Your Experience:

You will bring 7+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting, along with previous experience migrating from SQL Server to cloud warehouses. Your skills and experience will also cover:

  • Experience within Financial services (preferred but not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience building reports using PowerBI
  • Strong understanding of DW concepts/methodologies and data modelling, and cube design
  • Experience with AWS including associated toolsets:
    • Redshift
    • S3
    • Athena
    • RDS
    • Quicksight
  • Experience with CI / CD Methodologies and Building Infrastructure as a Code.
  • Exposure to databases and warehouses such as SQL Server, RedShift, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL with a good understanding of database design and development
  • Exposure to our legacy platform on SSIS, SSRS, SSAS desirable.
  • A confident communicator and driven by a dedication to exceptional customer service and delivering high-quality results
  • Possess advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
  • Able to work under pressure and autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Curious by nature and have an enthusiastic approach to learning
