**Financial Line Underwriter Role**

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Achievement of personal premium budget targets
  • Assisting in the development and accomplishment of business goals for profit, growth, service and producer relations
  • Underwriting process and analysis: determining acceptability of new lines and renewals, utilizing appropriate endorsements and applying adequate pricing structure, consulting with manager on risks exceeding delegated authority, maintaining awareness of claim activity with assigned book and communicating with adjusters as needed, monitoring underwriting results and premium and loss trends, overseeing underwriting judgement and authority of less experienced members of staff
  • Production: analysing and monitoring quality, volume and mix of business for assigned producers, reviewing performance reports, enforcing accounts, and making quality-control recommendations, visiting producers and insureds alone and with senior staff in order to communicate department philosophy and increase market share, increasing producers awareness of appetite, products and advantages through product presentations, participating in joint travel with members of other underwriting departments and establishing and maintaining travel program with less experienced staff in order to assist in development of marketing techniques, actively participating in business development activities including drafting and distribution of market letters to key producers
