Project Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex projects that impact strategic, political, or operational outcomes.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, project planning, execution, and monitoring abilities. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing work plans, engaging industry partners, managing stakeholder relationships, and contributing to ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

You will work closely with the Disposal Services Branch to ensure the efficient and effective disposal of ex-military platforms and other operational Defence equipment. This will involve facilitating disposal activities through means of Government-to-Government or commercial sale, gifting, or recycling in accordance with approved disposal plans.

The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in complex problem solving and issues management
  • Executing multiple project responsibilities including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure
  • Developing and implementing work plans, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement
  • Engaging industry partners to provide strategic direction and value for money outcomes
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and communicating methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes
  • Contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of the work area
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work
