Operations Leadership Opportunity

This role presents a chance for an experienced tradesperson to take on a leadership position in a thriving business.

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing active projects from award through to practical completion. You will work closely with foremen, clients, and delivery teams, taking full accountability for project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating job scheduling across multiple sites and managing programme updates, scheduling, materials, and key client and internal comms.
  • Working closely with the estimating team to understand scope and manage variations early.
  • Overseeing documentation, invoicing, programme updates, and site readiness.
  • Leading pre-start meetings and ensuring site teams are set up to succeed.
  • Building solid relationships with clients and foremen alike—earning their trust and holding it.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Strong background in managing large commercial painting projects.
  • Confidence, capability, and people trusting you because you've done the work—and you show up consistently.
  • Able to own outcomes—good and bad—and not shy away from responsibility.
  • Capable of taking constructive criticism without getting defensive—you know feedback helps you level up.
  • Don't need the GM to solve your problems—you bring solutions, not excuses.
  • The type of leader foremen look to for guidance, not around.
  • Clients see you as their go-to, not someone they bypass to get to the MD.
  • Comfortable having tough conversations and pushing back when needed—professionally and respectfully.
  • Reliable, organised, commercially aware, and hands-on.
  • Leadership style is about presence, clarity, and consistency.
