Front of House Receptionist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill this challenging role, working 2 days a week in our dynamic Day Surgery unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and professional first impression is made.
  • Answer incoming calls, address inquiries from both patients and their families, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Manage patient data and medical records, guaranteeing accuracy and confidentiality at every stage.
  • Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the day.
  • Maintain the reception area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and welcoming to all visitors.
  • Assist with general office administration tasks as required, contributing to the smooth running of our front office operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all privacy regulations and policies.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment, and provide outstanding support to our patients and their families.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure, providing a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in office software and booking systems, including electronic inpatient management systems such as WebPAS and EMR.
  • A professional, compassionate, and friendly demeanor, with a strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy laws.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Internet.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Good communication skills, enabling liaison with Bookings and Admission, as well as Theatre reception.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • A proven professional phone manner, providing a warm and welcoming greeting to all callers.
