Job Overview:

The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences in everyday practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation, and serving of resident meals
  • Provide care and support aligned with residents' daily routines, focusing on meal choices, individual nutrition, and enhancing the overall dining experience
  • Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
  • Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required
  • Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences
  • Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • A compassionate and caring attitude
  • Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience is highly regarded
  • Willingness to take direction from others
  • Reliability and shift flexibility
  • Good time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Valid working rights in Australia
