Contractor Management Role

This role involves managing contractors to ensure safety, contractual compliance, governance and performance indicators are met. You will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of major contracts, ensuring effective management and operation of the aerodrome, commercial systems and operating procedures, business optimisation and overseeing site wide cost reduction initiatives.

The successful person will have a sound understanding of contract, commercial and financial management activities at a large-scale mining and/or mineral processing operation, as well as proven contract management skills and ability to deliver results and lead a team in delivering a high level of customer support.

You will be expected to:

  • Own and monitor the performance of major contractors;
  • Identify data trends and insights and produce reports and dashboards that will inform, elevate and improve contractor management processes;
  • Implement sustainable workflow systems and processes to enable the achievement of both strategic and tactical plans;
  • Provide direction and support to MMO Contract Owners to ensure effective and adequate operational site management is maintained;
  • Liaise with Supply & Logistics for any commercial related Contract requirements;
  • Evaluate and manage department costs and budgeting;
  • Ensure the effective operation of the aerodrome, compliance with regulatory requirements and air transport services (including ad hoc charters) is provided to MMO;
  • Support operational continuous improvement and business optimisation initiatives;
  • Assist in business case development.
