Job Overview

The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria is seeking an Assessment and Transition Coordinator to support the Corrections team at Beechworth Correctional Centre.

  • This role involves utilising Programs Co-ordination expertise to provide support and advice on prisoner risk assessments, parole applications, and pre-release services.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners.
  • Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
  • Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a prison setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and coordination of prisoner risk assessment and parole application services.
  • Undertake prisoner risk assessments and needs assessments, coordinate prisoners' applications for parole, and contribute to the Case Management Review process.
  • Support the delivery of the Reintegration Program at the prison location.

Requirements

  • Risk Assessment and Needs Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments and needs assessments, and coordinate prisoners' applications for parole.
  • Program Coordination Expertise: Utilising expertise to develop, coordinate and deliver prisoner risk assessment, parole application, and pre-release services.
  • Collaboration and Communication Skills: Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with prisoners.
