Experienced professionals in plant operations are invited to apply for a role that offers a challenging and rewarding experience. This position requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.

  • The role involves operating and maintaining Council plant and equipment with an emphasis on backhoe operation.
  • Responsibilities will include undertaking general labouring duties such as traffic management, pipe laying, soil and sediment control, concreting and paving, tar patching, hot mix and sealing works, construction and maintenance of kerb and guttering, culverts, headwalls and pits, stormwater system maintenance, bridge maintenance, erection and maintenance of guide posts, sign posts and guard rails, fencing, roadside maintenance works, rehabilitation works, and site safety.
  • The successful candidate will be required to utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a National Certificate of Competency Class LB (Backhoe Operations), Class MR Driver's Licence, General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card), SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Card – Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control.
