**Riverina Water is seeking a motivated individual to Assist with a range of construction and

maintenance services as a member of the trade team.

**The position
**As the Grounds Maintenance Team Member, you will be responsible assisting with a range of

construction and maintenance services as a member of the trade team.

**Qualifications and skills required

competencies and relevant experiences.

**Remuneration and benefits**

Riverina Water enjoys a favourable reputation as a satisfying and rewarding workplace,

demonstrated by a relatively low staff turnover. The Hammond Avenue site is the location of

practical and modern workplaces including the administration, workshops, works depot, store

and main filtration plant. All buildings and vehicles are smoke-free workplaces, and staff

welfare through work health and safety and other provisions is a priority.

The commencing salary for this position is $66,272 to $74,590. In addition, we contribute 5.5%

additional superannuation (17% superannuation for current financial year), and employees

may salary sacrifice or make personal (non-tax deductible) contributions for additional

super.

Our working conditions include a 76 hour,** **9-day fortnight, with opportunities for professional

development and access to long service leave after five years. Additional purchased leave

options are also available.

**DIRECTORATE**:Engineering

**Purpose of Position**
Assist with a range of construction and maintenance services as a member of the trade team.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Undertake grounds maintenance including landscaping, planting trees & shrubs, levelling sites,

mowing, weed spraying, removing rubbish, maintaining watering systems and fencing.

2. Assist trade team with various construction and maintenance work in accordance with safety, quality

and time requirements.

3. Drive truck and operate plant including ride on mower, skid steer loader, Excavator, Tractor and

Slasher.

4. Ensure safety in the workplace by undertaking and reviewing risk assessments, by insisting on correct

and safe procedures at all times, by ensuring all machinery is maintained and safe, by diligent

preparation, and by using and requiring to be used, appropriate personal protection and safety
equipment.

5. Develop and review safe working procedures and practices, and participate in safety programmes by

leading team discussion, by safety training, and by constant awareness of the safety of team members,

contractors and site visitors.

6. Know and initiate emergency procedures where needed, participate in incident or accident

investigations, and support rehabilitation and return to work programmes.

**Selection Criteria**

Relevant experience in grounds maintenance and gardening

Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy

Demonstrated experience in assisting with concrete preparation and pouring and
building maintenance tasks

Good communication skills to liaise, negotiate and communicate effectively with key
stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience and understanding of workplace health and safety
requirements and commitment to an ongoing safety culture

- WHS Construction Induction (White
Card), MR Drivers Licence, ChemCert, etc
