Production Specialist

YanCoal is seeking a highly skilled Production Specialist to join our team in Blackwater, QLD. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will provide technical expertise in short and medium-term mine planning services and support to front-line supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan and site Safety Health and Environmental standards to ensure safe and sustainable mine standards.
  • Design and develop rolling weekly excavator plans and schedules for the mining operation.
  • Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, environmental standards, and associated legislative requirements.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly production reports and summaries.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or comparable degree.
  • Experience in open-cut mining operations within the coal industry preferred.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A drive for continuous improvement initiatives through scheduling, design, or innovation.
  • Passion and commitment to safety and the environment.
  • Advanced MS Office skills are essential, along with Vulcan experience and other mine planning software is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully and constructively interact with people at all levels, including internal and external stakeholders and clients.
