About the Opportunity

We currently have a position available for a Quality Inspector to join our friendly and growing team in Eastern Creek, NSW. This full-time permanent opportunity will commence on afternoon shift but move to day shift when we relocate to Kemps Creek. We're seeking a motivated and technically skilled Quality Inspector to join our fast-paced QC team, offering great conditions, comprehensive training, and career growth.

This pivotal role reports directly to the Senior Quality Engineer, Consumer, and focuses on identifying quality issues for all new products entering the market, ensuring compliance. You'll work closely with the QC and WHS teams to set up QC processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct visual and functional inspections of incoming goods on a wide range of products, including AC/DC power tools, garden tools, petrol tools, air tools, generators, and floorcare products.
  2. Detect defects in manufactured goods and effectively communicate inspection results and recommendations to Quality Engineers, Product Managers, Production, and Manufacturing team members.
  3. Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and provide guidance to rectify faults using investigative skills.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
  5. Follow established procedures and protocols for quality control, including sampling plans, inspection criteria, and documentation requirements.
  6. Oversee and instruct workers on performing spot checks and reworks as necessary.
  7. Participate actively and contribute to all quality department team meetings.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of [estimated salary $90,000 - $120,000] per annum, based on location and qualifications.
  • Experience working as a quality inspector/engineer in a manufacturing environment, coupled with practical hands-on experience in conducting inspections and tests, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with power tools, garden equipment, home appliances, and similar items.
  • Proficient hands-on abilities to dismantle products, perform analysis, and reassemble them effectively.
  • Proven experience in report writing, preferably in a professional or academic setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal abilities.
  • Strong Mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Teams for collaboration, Excel for reporting and analysis, Word for documentation, and PowerPoint for presentations.
