Lead Academic in Media, Film and Journalism

The School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University invites applications for a Head of School position. As a visionary academic leader, you will provide strategic direction to the School, driving innovation and excellence in research, teaching and engagement.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline and a track record of achievements in academic leadership, research and education. You will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and collegiality among staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership to the School, aligning with the Faculty's goals and objectives
  • Driving innovation and excellence in research, teaching and engagement
  • Fostering stronger industry partnerships and collaborations
  • Recruiting and retaining high-quality staff and students

The Head of School will be part of a revitalised structure, contributing to the development of the Faculty's strategic plan and participating in key decision-making processes.
